iphone4s can't use China Mobile's sim card after updating to 5.01

I've changed my sim card at China Mobile store in Guangzhou and it turns out that I can't even make 1 phone-call!! The staff told me that because there's problems or bugs with the 5.01 upgrade. Now I was forced to use China Telecom and everything's smooth like heaven. Hope apple will have an update for the China Mobile's user^^

Changing the sim-card may not be a right way to solve the signal problem.

Lots of China Moblie users had turned to China Unicom because of the signal issue of IOS5.01.

I really hope IOS5.02 could turn my inophone 4S into a real phone.

Which Apple should think of ASAP is the signal problem with China Moblie.

iPhone 4S with suuuuuuper battery but without stable signal means nothing at all.

Last nite, I updated the new version of iTunes and sync my phone.

(I almost DFU my phone, lucky i failed and no clue how to do it)

This morning, my signal and connection to internet/browser/online apps and phone calls are working much better.

1st time in the last 10days I was able to obtain good signal inside the MTR stations/train.

I am not sure if China Mobile - Hong Kong fixed this or it was the iTunes sync.

However SMS - outgoing is still unavailable!!

The same sim card I am using also can be used in China (2 numbers, 1 card).

Last week, I cant even make a phone calls nor getting any SMS. I had tonnes of miss calls.

Can anybody in China check your latest status and give us an update???

Thx

I received a call from China Mobile (HK) technical support, they claimed to be able to fix the problem very soon and persuade me to hold on to them.

I will wait until 5.0.2 iOS is out and see the outcome.

I wonder, China Mobile is the largest carrier in China, needless to say they are a listed company, why in the world they are not even able to properly connect their service with Iphone 4s, while other competiors, even less techngically advance than China Mobile are able to do so. ???????

The conclusion and observation I gather since I first used iPhone 4s with iOS 5.0.1:

1) iOS 5.0.1 is totally crap.

2) China Mobile Carrier is not compatible with iPhone 4s with iOS 5.0.1

3) Apple is doing a good job with iPhone 4s. Total failure...........booooooo

I have just purchased iPhone4S for my wife as X'mas gift, but now it has become X'mas pain!!!

I purchased the iPhone4S through one of Hong Kong mobile carrier, which is unlock, and it is fine for usage in Hong Kong. But when she brought it to China and then inserted her China Mobile SIM card, she has experienced all the problems you all have described above. She tried both cutting the ordinary SIM card to small size card and latest new micro SIM obtained from China Mobile. She can just seldomly make one call or receive one call. Most of time it is useless.

Therefore, she tried to purchase one "神州行" SIM card, i.e. Easyown SIM card, which is not requiring any registration. Interestingly it works fine with iPhone4S without any problem, for both making call, receiving call, sending SMS and receiving SMS, just like normal iPhone4.

As it looks like the problem is particularly related to IOS5.0.1 with 全球通 GoTone subscribers SIM card, now the only alternative is purchasing one "神州行" Easyone SIM card for temporary usage and then forward all calls from her existing GoTone SIM card phone number to this "神州行" Easyone SIM card phone number, and then wait until IOS5.0.2 is available for seeing if it can thorougly fix the problem.
