iTunes Match Match Explicit Songs Matches Clean

I am having issues where some songs that have explicit words are being replaced by songs that have been censored ( clean version ). I am pretty particular about my music, ever time I hear a song that has been censored, it is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Some of my songs are being properly matched, Eminem for instance seems to have no problem being matched, however Blink-182 gets matched with the clean version.

I hope Apple will correct this before this comes out of beta, for an Apple product I am thoroughly disappointed.

I have found a simple fix if you are using Apple TV that doesn't require deleting or re-importing all of your music. Ready?

I've been mad for months too.

Under Settings , General, then Parental Control, (you will need to make a password to turn it on) turn on Parental settings, then under each subcategory select the option "no" for restricting movies and tv shows and under Explicit Music & Podcasts, check "allow". Then go back out and turn the parental controls off again. Turn Apple TV off and back on again. Your music should now be unedited and cussing up a storm making you happy again.

I recently purchased eminems new album, explicit deluxe version. When I got home i put it into itunes to put it onto my iPod but once it imported it became censored. I even tried deleting it and re installing it but it's still censored. Can someone help me with my situation?

Delete the album from the iTunes library and the cloud and re-download it from your purchase history: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519. First make sure you are in a country that allows for re-downloading of purchases.

This really annoyed me all morning long. I was walking to work when I noticed a song was censored (OneRepublic - Good Life) No matter what I did, what already posted tricks I used to get it to match the correct version it just wouldn't work. Even tried completely changing the name of the song to something random, no dice. I finally gave up and created a .mp3 version via iTunes, deleted the old copy of the song and added the .mp3 version and viola, it finally matched the explicit version.

This is seriously getting ridiculous. This service has been available for years now and it's insane that this is still a glitch. I get that the fingerprints are probably similar, so just put a slider for explicit like we have for iTunes Radio. I just re-added 5 different versions of the same song (all explicit) and they came back censored every time, except one which became uploaded (which would somewhat solve the issue, but is annoying for quality reasons)

I've had it at this point. I'm a long time Apple fan but honestly, iTunes Match is poorly executed. Was listening to a song yesterday and it censored a song for the word “*** I'm sorry but this should not be hard to fix. A simple VERY simple already pre-existing TAG for explicit is all that's required. But iTunes match not only ignores the tag but wipes it out.

The other really annoying thing is that it'll randomly download songs and store them on my phone. I commute in Manhattan which means I'm on Subways alot meaning I download my music and turn off the "Show All Music" option and only play what I've downloaded. But fairly consistently a song I did NOT download winds up on my phone and can't be deleted. I have to turn "Show All Music" back on while I'm connected, download the song in question and THEN delete it. I would say it's some how saving a song it cached but I never have the Show All Music function on.

The problem has persisted across iOS and phone hardware versions too.

At this point, I'm done. The only way I found to fix the problem for sure is the recreate a new .mp3 version. I can't have two different versions of all these songs. Just not worth it. Going to turn off iTunes match on my phone and not renew it. Just going to rely on Google drive to backup my library going forward. A rare #AppleFail.

I just discovered this issue tonight while listening to Pantera's "Yesterday Don't Mean ****." What a joke. For everything Apple does so well, when it comes to QA where iTunes Match is concerned, it is just so buggy--they just seem overwhelmed, perhaps. It's really annoying. I understand that this is simply a bug within the matching algorithm (I think), but the fact that they have been aware of it for this long and there is no fix concerns me. I, too, am nearly ready to cancel. A great service hindered by bad bugs. Sad.

I've discovered something that works for me.

1. Launch iTunes

2. Turn off iMatch via iTunes

3. Connect your iOS device to iTunes

4. Transfer your songs (edited by iMatch) to your iOS device

then,

5. Go to your iOS device and turn on iMatch.

I've been affected by edited over explicit on iMatch too.

Let me know if this works for anyone because it did for me.
