iTunes Match Match Explicit Songs Matches Clean

I just discovered this issue tonight while listening to Pantera's "Yesterday Don't Mean ****." What a joke. For everything Apple does so well, when it comes to QA where iTunes Match is concerned, it is just so buggy--they just seem overwhelmed, perhaps. It's really annoying. I understand that this is simply a bug within the matching algorithm (I think), but the fact that they have been aware of it for this long and there is no fix concerns me. I, too, am nearly ready to cancel. A great service hindered by bad bugs. Sad.

Same thing is happening to me on the same song... really annoying.

*EDIT* - just to add, it's not a global problem with my iTunes or match settings, it's just a few songs. All the rest matched from my original CD rips and play fine, outside of a handful of songs.

I've discovered something that works for me.

1. Launch iTunes

2. Turn off iMatch via iTunes

3. Connect your iOS device to iTunes

4. Transfer your songs (edited by iMatch) to your iOS device

then,

5. Go to your iOS device and turn on iMatch.

I've been affected by edited over explicit on iMatch too.

Let me know if this works for anyone because it did for me.

Keep reporting to apple, they definitely need to fix it. I would send lists with specific examples.

I've had this for a year too and it's getting really frustrating. I'm sending some feedback now.

Yeah the even wierder thing is it is per song. Some of the songs that I have matched even within the same album have this issue. Some will be explict, others will not.

It's not intentional censorship, the matching software just can't get it right yet. The exact same thing is happening with live/studio versions, remixes, etc.

Mine too. Blink-182 also.

Hope they fix to and as they find these do a push to fix it.

Anyone know a way to mark and force your version of a song up tot he cloud?

This really *****. Has anyone come up with a work around? Is there a way to force a rescan of a specific song? It doesn't make a lot of sense. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

For me it's Blink-182, but not the whole album... strange. I did change my metadata (genre and album artist) but the Match still thinks some of the tracks are censored.

I'm having this exact same issue. this is really frustrating. There should be away to just ask for all your music to be explicit or clean. or choose for each track

Me too, I've noticed a lot of my Drake songs are cleaned 😟

And I'm surely not going through my other 4800+ songs to see what it messed up

Not a good idea, definitely keep a backup copy of the full iTunes library.

Having the same issue, this is cropping up all over the forums. Music that was unedited went up to the cloud and came down edited/clean. Most irritating thing listening to scratched, bleeped music.

The is enfuriating, a 1GB download for 10.7.3, theres no mention of fixing iTunes Match. 😠
