apps will not update

Thanks for posting this!! This was the hang up that created my phone to not "update" aps and they have been just stuck in "waiting"!! Went in and deleted a few podcasts that I forgot about downloading and as soon as they were gone, my aps started to update!! :-) Happy!!!

Well, what worked for me since I have no iPhone was to disable the iCloud account which I don't use and apps now will update and can download new apps over WIFI.

I am new to iPhone and I had an update on apps which I tried to download and it has been loading for almost 2 days! I don't know how to cancel it. I tried downloading iCloud or an app from the top 25 thinking it might cancel the first one and now they are all "loading". How do you delete an update?

This is exactly what fixed it for me. All the rest that I cam across unknowingly point to this. Thanks so much for the help.

Maybe you can try getting a bettter connection. If that dosn't work try deleting the app and getting it again in the app store. If you get it brand new again it should already be updated.

Not really sure who you're responding to, but the fix for me was deleting a file that was stuck in the Download folder in iTunes. Once I did that everything was fine.

What I did was delete one of the apps that would not update because I figured it was causing the problem and then the app store would allow me to update the remaining apps. Then I went to the app store and download again the app I deleted and then everything was fine. It seems that this sometimes happens when you try and up date several apps at once and one of them causes a problem. I guess one way of finding the culprit is to update the apps individually until you see which one won't update, then delete that one and update the others as a group and finally reinstall the problem app.

Well you re probably out of space. Plug it into our computer with iTunes turned on the computer and see how much space is left.

Same problem for me on my iphone 4

I have had this problem and another, apps won't open on iphone 4. I delete the app from the phone then am able to download again from app store. Those that weren't working before are now working.

My problem is not that apps won't update -they will - but the app just says open. I can open the app but the app with the word open still stays on update page. I now have a large list of open epps on update page.

I have since turned off my phone and restarted it. Whereas it originally showed 2 available updates, it now showed 7. I hit "update all" and all of the updates have downloaded. Seems like there was a stupid solution for a stupid problem.

Unable to update to 10.9.1. App Store Update would not download update. I then manually downloaded OSXUpd10.9.1.dmg. Ran Installer Package. OS 10.9 still did not update to 10.9.1. So far it's waste of time.
