OK... I take it back. The empty playlists are all still there. If I run KillEmptyPlaylists, it deletes only 1 playlist at a time. If I run KillTopLevelPlaylists, I get an error that reads like this:

Line: 120

Char: 5

Error: Object required: 'L'

Code: 800A01A8

Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error

Just made sure the version ot KillTopLevelPlaylists online matches mine and tested it here where it works fine.

Both playlists include rules to avoid deleting playlists called Voice Memos or Purchased on ... Would either of those explain your results?

Have you disabled Match before trying to clean up?

When you run KillEmptyPlaylists does the script produce an output report saying how many scripts were processed and how many removed? If so what results are you getting?

This solution worked great for me too...problems syncing (step 7), 20,000+ empty playlists on all devices... TrackShift fixed it in about 4 minutes.

Thank you! This thing has been driving me nuts. I use playlists a lot and was having to make every playlist start with a letter earlier in the alphabet than the erroneously replicated list. No thanks to iTunes support. They didnt even respond to my request.

Same issue here. So annoying. It seems like able is becoming like Microsoft. Sad!

Am I getting this right: we are complaining since 3 years in this thread that this payed service is a mess - and there is still no fix or (at least) an official statement from Apple?

What can we say... it's just bad...
