iMac crashes since upgrade to Lion.

Since my upgrade to Lion (10.7) my iMac crashes at least once a week. There is no pattern I can identify. The log/report is consistently as follows:

I don't claim to understand logs but from previous postings on here I'd suggest uninstalling Sophos using the installer in your Applications folder.

See if that makes a difference - AV software often seems to be the cause of kernel panics.

If it fixes things and you still want AV protection, the one that is consistently recommended on here as being trouble-free is the donationware clamXav: http://www.clamxav.com/download.php

It only seems to happen to me when I'm at the office. My setup there:

1. Additional external monitor hooked up to the Thunderbolt port through my old Mini DV adaptor

2. My Time Machine external HD hooked up to one of the USB ports

3. A 4:1 USB hub where I have an old Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse combo that has been in our office forever, the Apple Ethernet adapter (my Air has no built-in Ethernet), and a Fujitsu scanner.

I guess any one of those things could be the culprit.

If anyone out there has any ideas (should I post the log from the kernel panic?), PLEASE help. My 1 year-old MacBook Pro 13 was PERFECT (Snow Leopard). My new Lion MBA... not so much.

Hi dasherpr,

Do you or did you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed? It was the only odd thing I notice in the report. I used to have BDM installed for my gf but now that she has her own MBP I removed it. It seemed to have left several files behind. As you can see from the report com.rim.driver.BlackBerryUSBDriverInt 0.0.64 was kicking around. Getting to my point I looked into the BDM uninstaller and manually removed all the files from their corresponding directories and "knock on wood" it's been a month since and I haven't had the kernal crash. This is the only advice I can add for now.

Cheers
