siri can't take any requests right now

11/19/2011: Siri continues to say, "I'm really sorry, but I can't take any requests right now." She's been saying that since early last evening. Also, voice dictation is not working on my note pad, where it had before.

Does anybody know what's wrong?

OK just wanted to share this, I could only get siri to work on 3G...

It used to work on my wifi but then I started to have loads of problems, it would work for half a request, and then that was it.

I now have siri working on wifi perfectly, no hassles at all.

To do this I had to cahnge the channel on my router. My router was conflicting with other wireless

routers in my area. I was on channel 1, changed it to channel 6 and still conflicted with others, so I

changed it to channel 13.... and its worked perectly ever since!!!

Yayyy for Siri! lol (its about time!)

This is what I did and it worked fine... First turn siri off and then back on by going to settings then clicking general then going to siri. Then keep saying "HI SIRI" every couple hours until it works. This may take a couple days. It is ok if you don't say Hi every two hours (you are allowed to sleep). The more you say it the quicker it will work. This is just what worked for me.

Hi,

I have just bought a new 4S 64GB. I have yet to have a positive response from siri. I purchased the phone after my positive experience with a new iPad. The silence from Apple in conjunction with the rebooting, restarting, resetting and trying again and again as evidenced on this forum does sadly remind me of the 3.1 days of windows. Sadly.

The post will probably be deleted, but that's my opinion.

Let's hope the next update either removes the gimic, or at least gives a responsible error message explaining the problem in more detail so we can give up sooner.

Try out this temp fix to get it working on wifi and please report the issue to Apple. So that they re aware so many of us are having this problem.

Go to settings>wifi... go to connected wifi network's advanced option by clicking the blue arrow and enter one of these DNS settings in the DNS field i.e 208.67.220.220 or 208.67.222.222 or Google DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4).

Do tell the Apple Customer Care that this is how you ve got it to work by entering these specific DNS settings and that it only works on wifi.

Hopefully this would make them aware that there is this specific issue and we can get it working on 3G soon.

Thanks..

p.s This is assuming you tried everything else like disabling enabling siri, resting settings etc.and still didnt work

Guys call up the Apple Customer Care in the country your iphone is from and report this issue as they're the only ones who are entitled to really help you out and to take the issue seriously and even note it in their systems that you are even having this issue. They help you out way better that any stores do( is what feel). This would also tell them that lot of us are facing this problem and maybe get their severs rectified ( or whatever it requires) .

Please call them and report .. thanks

siri can't take any requests right now
