siri can't take any requests right now

11/19/2011: Siri continues to say, "I'm really sorry, but I can't take any requests right now." She's been saying that since early last evening. Also, voice dictation is not working on my note pad, where it had before.

Does anybody know what's wrong?

I think the problem has nothing to do with the iPhones, but is likely a problem with the servers that host SIRI being overwhelmed by the amount of data requiring conversion from speech to text. There is a lot of "voice data" being transmitted by many more users since the release of the 5S and the 5C.

I work in the field of speech recognition, and my experience is that remote transcription is never effective via the Internet; SIRI is essentially doing just that with the slight difference that it translates your verbal commands into commands for the phone.

I suspect that until those servers are optimized for the amount of data being input it, this problem will be, quite annoying, persistent.

Siri seems to really have a problem since iOS7. I actually went ahead w/ the iOS7 upgrade, in part, because Siri was supposed to be better. It's not. 😟 It's actually MUCH worse for me. I get the dreaded "can't take any requests right now..." message several times a week and, on some days, several times a day. Resetting Siri (turning her off / back on) or putting the iPhone into airplane mode and then off again will get her working again for a while but then... ARGH!!! Apple, PLEASE fix this!!

Imagine my disappointment. Having just bought the new 5S yesterday and SIRI only works once!!!! Then I get the usual 'sorry can't take any more requests - try again in a bit' #*!*#

I can't believe Apple has let this problem go on for so long without finding a solution.

I am so disappointed.......... It was one of the features that I was looking forward to using regularly as

I am often driving or dashing off from one place to another and being able to enable commands with

SIRI was going to make my life easier!!!!!

I hear ya, man! I was so ****** off with Siri's increasing unavailability after the 5s launch, that I emailed Tim Cook about the issue. Apple contacted me two days later, and have been very professionally working with me to resolve the issue.

One thing I would suggest, that seemed to help me, is to reset network settings: Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings.

These past few weeks, Siri has been working very well for me with virtually no unavailability, although it is sometimes slower to respond to my request than usual. I've made a recommendation to Apple on a workaround for the slow response issue. The more direct feedback Apple gets, the higher priority and likelihood your issue is addressed. So, please give feedback to:
