iTunes does not have the ability to convert FLAC to MP3. You can use a 3rd party audio format converter such as Switch. After conversion, add the MP3s to your iTunes library.

After trying a whole bunch of FLAC converters that didn't work, I found Hewbo Free Audio Converter. Simple and free. Just drag your FLAC file into the window provided, pick a file type that you want it converted to, and click the convert button. Boom, done. Locate your new file, click it, and it goes to your iTunes library. http://www.hewbo.com/free-audio-converter.html

I use Audacity. For many reasons. It's free, easy and very professional.

If you want, you can edit the sound, apply effects like normalize, amplify, add echo, flanger, and many others to enjoy.

But if you only wants to convert, you open the file and select the option "export" and choose MP3, with your preferred quality.

You can do the process also using multiple files if you want.

iTunes doesn't support FLAC as the input format so that you can not convert FLAC to MP3 by iTunes.

Here is a widely recommended solution to convert FLAC to MP3 with easy steps. And then you can play your FLAC files on iPhone, iPod, iPad, MP3 Players, Android, BlackBerry and more popular devices and players.

Besides, this solution also helps you convert FLAC to WAV, AAC, AC3, WMA, etc. Happy with it.

There's no need to pay for something like that when there are many free alternatives. Unfortunately that post looks very much like many we see here where a developer is pushing their product as the solution to a question as a form of free advertising and is forgetting if they receive compensation they are supposed to include a disclaimer in their post.

I don't know why you used FLAC in the first place as iTunes has never officially supported that format mp3 and Apple Lossless is identical quality. Apple Lossless can even be used in Windows Media Player (requires a free plugin).

However it should be very easy to do, I have used XLD to convert FLAC to Apple Lossless before and it will even convert the tags as it does so. The resulting Apple Lossless files will then work perfectly in iTunes. Not only will XLD convert individual .flac files but it will even do Bin/Cue FLAC files. As XLD can also be run from the command line if you need you could write an AppleScript or ShellScript to do an automatic bulk conversion of a hard disk containing all your FLAC files.

See http://tmkk.undo.jp/xld/index_e.html

If needed iTunes can convert Apple Lossless to MP3 and will also convert the tags.

There's actually no need to convert your FLAC to MP3 in order to get it on your iPhone or iPad. Try using this app called younity.

It let's you access and stream every FLAC file on your computer's hard drive remotely from your iPhone or iPad. It's free and super simple to set up. It basically creates a personal cloud between your phone and computer so you can always have remote access to all of your files. And you can play the FLAC files in full quality in the mobile app on your phone. So you don't have to sacrifice sound quality by converting anything.

check out his blog post for more info on FLAC vs MP3 and how to use younity: https://blog.getyounity.com/flac-to-mp3/

Hope this helps!
