Can someone help me with step by step directions converting a bunch of flac files to mp3 using itunes? A lot of the sites on google for this procedure are old, and i'd like something that is compatible with Lion and 10.7.2 I really, truly thank you for the info

iTunes does not have the ability to convert FLAC to MP3. You can use a 3rd party audio format converter such as Switch. After conversion, add the MP3s to your iTunes library.

It seems that iTunes does not support FLAC.I also try other tools but not helpful. I search "How to Convert FLAC on Mac with Mac FLAC to MP3 Converter" in Google and get a solution. This Mac FLAC Converter helps me easily convert FLAC to MP3 on Mac.

Just do a search for a free flav to mp3 converer on google.

Just tried Switch - only converts 5 songs at a time on the free version, but a great find - thanks for the tip.
Try XLD or Max, both free. I know XLD does it though the interface has a bit of a learning curve.
I use the open source http://www.freac.org/ - runs on win/mac/linux...

awesome. worked for me. always a bit nervous i am going to stuff my computer up but this is exactly what i needed. recommened.
It is also true that the S/W has performance issue. I found the problem after trying to convert songs of an whole album and the program crashed after finishing four songs.
