Mine was not working for two days (not even varying it's "I'm really sorry about this" message). I turned off siri and turned it back on and it didn't help. I turned off the phone and turned it back on and it didn't help. Then I tried both: turning off siri, turning off the phone, turning on the phone, turning on siri. Now it works. Hope it works for y'all.

Thank you V2C

This "off, off,on,on" thing doesn't work for me either. Diction doesn't work either, so all speech to text functions do not work. This is really frustrating, first because Apple doesn't seem to make this public when so many people are having the same problem, and second because some people seemed to have solved their problem with a simple method now while people like me are still stuck. This was my first Apple product and the experience is turning into a nightmare. I read on other forums that this is a server-wide problem. Just what's going on??

The only Soultion I found that actually works was a Full Reset of the phone under the Settings and then General Tab. You then need to go back to put all your things back the way they were or you like to have them, Its a pain but the only thing I found that worked! Mine didnt work for 3 days till I found this out. Good luck! I know how you feel with the Siri! I otheriwse love the phone minus the issue with that!

I can identify with most of the problems listed above - and pretty disappointed as an Apple fan. The easiest fix I've found is to simply reboot the phone (turn it off and back on). While it takes some time, it's probably less time than it takes to turn off Siri and reset the phone, etc. Many times now I've received the typical "I'm really sorry about this..." message (multiple times within a brief period) - likely overload on the servers. But when I reboot the phone I usually get through immediately. The other problems with Siri will probably take several updates to perfect the application. It's a great idea - and we'll all cheer when it works with relative dependability. My only disappointment with Apple is their lack of communication to those of us who invested in the iPhone 4S. Though Apple need not communicate their problems to the entire world, we users are owed an explanation of what's going on and what to expect. When a feature as heavily advertised as Siri was marketed to us in a pretty "loud voice" - at least a quiet explanation with assurances would be appreciated. Yes, of course the competition will love the "admission" of an Apple imperfection. But they would have much less to crow about with contented Apple customers maintaining their loyalty instead of feeling powerless to do anything but to post their complaints. Just my opinion.
