Maybe you did not hear the SIRI intro when 4S came out nor read the Apple website, but SIRI is a BETA product, and this is normal for a BETA product. If this was a paid app then I can see a big fuss, but not for a FREE BETA Product.

He's already posted the same thread earlier today...

just ignore the Troll.
Yep, and Gmail was beta for years. Beta is now "released" software. It really isn't much of a surprise Apple can't do cloud services. They have little experience, and what experience they have had has been disastrous (remember MobileMe contacts backup?).
Frankly, IMO, if Steve was still around, this stuff wouldn't happen.
All true. It s server overload but not necessarily Siri servers. In Vermont Siri is working fine. As we speak. I would suspect they have some load limits set by region. They woud have to. I really think its folks asking what the meaning of life is several hundred times. I saw a tech In an AT&T store doing this and other silly stuff. Because its there folks have to push it. It's a great tool but I likely think it's being abused a little. Natural human tendency I'm sure.
I find it amazing that anyone not an Apple employee would defend the massive advertising of a product that does not work. I am very unhappy with the entire situation with Siri, iCloud, photostream, etc. none of these highly touted features work as advertised. I don't care if it's a beta or not. If it is used to get me to buy a new phone it should work. There is nothing free about it.
siri works 1 sec then die again...really unstable onw
Had to fix it myself with: Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Let's hope Siri does not go the way of those iPod Nano that took years for Apple to fix the problem: http://m.cnet.com/Article.rbml?nid=57323628&cid=null&bcid=&bid=-248
I remain hopeful.
I did those process many times, but it was still same...sigh..disappointed
I hear your disappointment ...
It appears it is still down. I was having problems earlier with it, but now it is saying "I'm really sorry about this, but I cannot take any requests right now." 😟
Yup, Siri still down here in California at 10:30 AM Pacific Time on Nov 28. I agree with others who are concerned that we get no notice of this or explanations that it's down along with an estimated up time. It's really a very handy service that Apple provides and a major motivation to own the iPhone 4s, so I hope Apple works the Beta out of this and fast. The other attributes of the iPhone 4s are nice, but Siri was the deciding factor for me and others among my friends.
Siri is working fine up here in the Pacific Northwest. Just checked.
Hummmm, must be a regional problem, then... Anyone else in California having a problem?
Im in pacific NW,but it doesnt work.
however,my friend's works
Siri still down here in Northern California. I've rebooted my phone and that didn't help, so I'm sure the Siri server being down is the problem.
Siri server down AGAIN!
