If Apple doesn't monitor this, they are even more arrogant than their reputation suggests. Where might be a better place to find out what your customers are experiencing than a user forum? I understand not to expect a direct reply from apple in response to a post on this forum, but for Apple to have access to this (and to provide the actual forum itself) and ignore it completely seems really silly to me.

Well, Siri is up again - a bit slow but now functioning.

Regardless of the whole 'Oh... this is BETA blah blah blah blah', Apple really needs to put a response plan in place for Siri issues.

As so many publications, blogs, news and review sites have shown in recent weeks, Siri is a HOT topic. Its a huge leap forward and has amazing potential. Apple needs to make this a top priority. If the support level is ignored and issues such as 'outages' continue to go unanswered, someone else will take advantage of this... We'll see another pushed by Micro$oft or Google and that will be the end of Siri.

I've read posts concerning Apple's lack of ability to deal with cloud support. As a new Apple customer (coming from Android), I certainly hope they are working on this. What I would love to see is a 'status' message for Siri listed here:

Think about it... having a simple status check for Siri would certainly help calm the masses when the service suffers from a temp outage. That and a 'we are aware of the interruption and are working to resolve' message - at least then I would know Apple cares... 😉

I imagine Apple does monitor its own forum. They may not speak up and post - but I'm sure its monitored. They would be foolish not to monitor.

@Apple - Invest in the resources to support Siri... you have the customer interest... don't lose it.

Does anyone else think its wrong to release a new phone and expect people to buy of for no other reason than Siri.. And then have major issues with Siri and fall back on the BETA excuse? If something is in BETA it should be free shouldn't it? Doesn't Apple realize their products only have a shelf life of 12 months before they release a new product. You can't have something in "Beta" for 2-3 months out of that 12 and then expect people to upgrade to the iPhone5 9 months from now.

And am I the only American without an accent that Siri can barely understand? I swear the old Siri and Dragon can understand me much better than the new Siri. She just can't understand certain names like Matt no matter how many times I try. And even when I repeatley correct her manually she never learns. I thought she was supposed to learn. Is that a crock?

It's been out for me since Nov 28th. I tried rebooting and hard rebooting. It doesn't seem to work. The service works intermittently, so it seems to be a connection with the server that is the problem. I have read that some of the Siri Hacks may be responsible for the outage. Others say the Siri servers cannot keep up with the sheer number of requests. I hope Apple fixes it soon. I read how Steve Jobs would miraculously fix product shortcomings with his charisma, but come on Apple...fix the problem.

Maybe next time you release a major product, have all the software working near perfectly.

Just go watch the Siri commercials from Apple on YouTube: they entice, they don't warn that the product is a Beta and may not work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ciagGASro0

Nope they just want to sell more Iphone 4s smartphones. Apple portray's Siri, in it's commercials, as a major feature you, "just have to have". I know Apple fixies these things, but please put out a statement. The next thing I'll see is a frumpy Microsoft guy talking to his phone, and the neat Apple kid is getting a response like, "I'm sorry I can't help you. I am not taking any questions right now. Please try in a little while."

By the way it just worked 3 out of 4 times. I guess it's better than the service RIM fiasco.
