iTunes 10.5.1.42 Bug - Repeated Update Carrier Settings Prompts on syncing with iTunes

Same thing happening on:

iPad: 1

iOS: 5.0.1

iTunes: 10.5.1 (42)

Operating System: 10.7

Location: Sweden

Carrier: 3

So tell Apple about it... this is a user to user forum and Apple does not officially monitor the forums.

Use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page.

So, what makes you assume that:

a) I have not done so?

b) there are no users in this forum that might have figured out a workaround?

that's exactly the point of this "user to user" forum, to find out if there are other people experiencing the problem and check if there are any known solutions with other "users"... thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Same deal here. I've taken to just cancelling each time it prompts to update. Would obviously rather not have to but yeah...

Same here - iPad1, Tre in Sweden. The update seems to succeed but than comes back after a couple of hours.

I'm having the exact same problem. Whenever iTunes detects my iPhone 4S, either over wifi or USB, it prompts me to update the carrier settings. This completes successfully each time, but it's very annoying!

same problem here.rang virgin they transfered me to optus..optus said it was virgins problem...rang virgin again they told me this time it was apple that needs to fix the problem.

after being on the phone for 2hrs yes 2hrs they tried to show me how to change settings on my computer.they guided me through everything..nothing worked. so i am back to where i started from still getting carrier settings update..so far this has been a complete waste of my time and energy.

apple also suggested that i might try a new sim card so i went to virgin and got one.

that didn't work either....

Every Time I plug my ipad 2 into sync with my MacBook Pro 15 (2011) I get this prompt. It started last week, and now happens EVERY time. I sync about 5 times a day, and each is held up by the prompt, for me to accept it. It used to be seamless, it now needs me to "manage" every sync.

I have latest software on BOTH h/ware items.

I am on O2 Network in UK on iPad, and my Network for Internet is: BT Infinity

(no Virgin Network)

Started happening on my O2 carrier iPad too recently, not been able to fix this.

And constantly with my O2 iPad these last three months...
