SD Card can not be erased / formatted

Hi guys, I have an SD Card 8Gb that I used to use in a Win computer. I'm now a Mac user. The SD Card can be read, but can not be formatted or have any files deleted or inserted. The slider in turned ok on the card, but the properties of it keep saying "read-only" permission. And in the Disk Utility app the options to erase the sd card are all disabled! The only option I can run there is "verify disk"... what have to be done to get the sd card functional read-AND-write on Mac?

I appreciate if you guys can help me out.. Thanks!

I thought it was strange but I tried it and it works now so yea, just get in the middle. Thanks Radical.

P.S. There is a sweet spot though, you gotta get just right.

Exactly, this is what I did inserting in my Mac Air card slot, with the switcher between locked and unlocked too! It works fine and is the sempliest solution on earth!!! 🙂

Yeah this is rediculous apple. My SD card will work on my Imac and Mac AIR but not on my macbook pro. This is a dumb fix and thank god someone was able to figure it out!

I just had the same issue (MacBook Pro early 2011, Yosemite), and incredibly this suggestion worked.

This was the issue for me too. I just put the little thing in the middle and it worked (after hours of psalms) 😁

I had the same problem and this solution worked for me too (put the slider in the middle)
