Assertion Failure ISDistributionManager

Greetings,

I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8. I am trying to update to Lion. When using the Mac App Store to do so, I receive the error message, "We could not complete your purchase. The production distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed." When I look in the Console, I see the following message:

11/21/11 3:50:51 PM App Store[518] *** Assertion failure in -[ISDistributionManager verifyDistributionAtURL:allowsDevSign:error:distributionController:], /SourceCache/Pisa/Pisa-60.8/Source/ISDistributionManager.m:146

I have tried updating/buying other applications. I receive the same error message, and the same message in the Console. Any ideas on how to resolve the problem?

Thanks!

Chris

I have the same related set of events:

  • App Store failing to install a full set of bought softwares with the following error message:
    INSTALL_ERROR_DISTRIBUTION_SIGNED_BY_APPLE
  • App Store logging in
    /var/log/system.log
    :

Jun 7 10:00:08 sagan App Store[2208]: *** Assertion failure in -[ISDistributionManagerverifyDistributionAtURL:allowsDevSign:error:distributionController:], /SourceCache/Pisa/Pisa-60.8/Source/ISDistributionManager.m:162

Here is what I have already tested about this App Store error:

  • This a MacOS X account related problem,
  • The Debug functions of App Store don't fix it,
  • the resetting of the MacOS X user account permission is useless.

Did you fix it?

I think so.

I have a general problem with bought softwares and free ones.

I think I'm near the origin of the problem.

Could you please check the date of one of your preferences files and put the result here?

Here is how you may help.

Open an

xterm
or
Terminal
,

type the following command:

    ls -lt ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.revocation.plist

and paste the output line in this discussion.
