Hello all,
I figured out a very quick and easy way to update your contacts to iCloud. Originally, my contacts were unknowingly updating to my hotmail account; therefore not updating on all of my devices. Here is what I did:
1. Download the free iPhone app "PhoneSwappr". This app lets you upload your contacts to their cloud for 7 days.
2. Upload your contacts and save the code they give you. I just took a screenshot.
3. In the iPhone settings, I went to the mail, contacts, calendars tab and made iCloud my default account. This was the main culprit to the problem. I also unchecked the contacts sync from my hotmail account which deleted my contacts from my phone.
4. I went to the contacts app and looked to see that my hotmail group was gone. (click on the groups tab in the top left hand corner of your iPhone screen.) I only saw my iCloud account and my Facebook account. I only left the iCloud checked, and only the iCloud contacts appeared (so in my case I had no contacts).
5. I went back to the PhoneSwappr app and downloaded my contacts with the key code they previously provided.
6. Return to the contacts app and your contacts will be updated. check in the groups tab that iCloud is the only one checked and if the contacts appear with just iCloud, then transfer worked.
7. Uncheck the contacts box in the iCloud settings but do not delete the contacts from your phone. Let them save to your iPhone and then recheck the selection. This will update your iCloud contacts.
I hope this helps!
