I saw some guys do this at an Apple conference I went to. I have an Hitachi LCD projector. Brand New. I just bought an AppleTV 2. I also picked up an HDMI coverter for my projector. I have it all hooked up and all the pieces seemed to match fine, but Apple TV does not show through the projector. HElp..

I also picked up an HDMI coverter for my projector.
There are hardware converters that will convert HDMI to various other types of output, however there are some issues with doing so that you should be aware of.
HDCP
HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.
Resolution and aspect ratio
I'm not aware of any converters that will scale the output from the Apple TV, any TV or projector which is used will need to be widescreen and support resolutions of 720p.

I bought the HDMI on line. It has the output for RPG for the projector. On the other side it has an HDMI input.
I don't understand how it works.

It appears your projector only supports standard definition video (480i and 576i)
