Problem turning "On" automatic downloads for Music and Apps

Everytime I try and turn On automatic downloads for Music and Apps in the Store on my iphone it automatically switches back to Off. I am not sure what the problem is.

Mary...

Try resetting your iPhone. Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Check Settings > Store. If Music and Apps still won't stay "switched" on, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

See if that helped.

You won't lose any data as a result of, "resets".

Thank you! I spent a lot of time today trying all the other suggested fixes on other discussions about this problem. Tried:

Turning phone on and off.
Setting DNS to 8.8.8.8 in the Wireless Network setting
Logging out and logging back into my iTunes account on the iPhone
Setting the iPhones program in my computer to also receive Automatic Downloads and then resyncing my iPhone to my computer's iTunes

None of the above helped, but when I did the Reset All Settings as you suggested, that solved the problem
