Best camcorders 2,000 to 3,000?

Hello all,
Ok, I have focused my question. What is the best prosumer camera in the 2 to 3 thousand dollar range? One that has XLR ports, cinema mode, and alot of manual controls. Thanks,
Bob

Sticks sticks sticks!!

This is NOT a run and gun camera. Once you get used to the beautiful pictures it takes you realize quick how awful you can actually make it look.

Zeb -- the DVX straight 100 IS a great camera. Sorry. And yes, I've turned my auto focus OFF and put bubble gum in there to jam it up too so I'll never have the urge to use it. 24fsp modes really tax the auto focus.

But they did fix some audio problems in the later models... NOT the earphone amp which REALLY is cheap and hissy (not the audio it records, just the headphone amp.)

Someone posted about the HD camera... hmmm... not sure I want to answer that one.

I'm gonna get me one of them ME66s if you recommend, Zeb.

vtr... yeah, you don't want to be using this camera for all your captures... get yourself a DSR11 from sony.
