New iPhone user here, so this is frustrating for me. I should only have to do two things to access my phone's features, not three. Once I activate phone by pushing one of 2 buttons, I should just have to enter my passcode, not swipe to get to the place where I can enter my passcode. I wouldn't even mind if they just made it go away if and only if you create a form of security (passcode, fingerprint, etc.).
Set a passcode, and then set up fingerprint recognition in the "Touch ID and passcode" settings. All you have to do to unlock your iPhone is press the home button with whichever finger or fingers (you can have up to five) you've setup for fingerprint recognition. One press of the home button is all it then takes to access your iPhone.
Ok, after more research here and in another forum, I went to the touch id and am very pleased. Since you can put multiple fingerprints in, I've put in both left and right thumb and index finger and will have my husband put his prints in too so he can open my phone. As long as it will accept at least 5 (preferably 8) prints, I will be happy with this.
yes, thanks. You'll see in my next post that i did discover that. My resistance to the fingerprint was that I didn't realize you could have more than one. With 5, that works. Plus you can still use the passcode.
