Same here. Seems to have started with 5.0.1 for me. That seem true for you?

Only rather than turning debug console off. I want you to turn it "on" and try browsing for awhile, and if you find errors on the websites that fail, report those to the webmaster at that site.

You may also try a reset all settings under General, and see whether that helps.

No warning no message just closes the app and goes to the home screen just as it would if you hit the home button. Yea did a fresh install of Facebook with no success but yea Facebook does it a lot when I hit the notifications link up top I actually have video doing it every time I would click that notification but it will also do the same just when ever it feels like if you want to see the video I will upload it to YouTube and post a link or maybe send you the link privately because it does show my friends and all the stuff in the notification window

I have first gen Ipad and unfortunately after doing the updates to 5.1 my Ipad is slow, goes to home screen when in apps or safari, slow typing input sometimes. Basically it ruined my IPAD to update it because before the software updates I never had this happening. I was one of those early Iphone folks too and did the updates that never should have been pushed to that phone and I suffered with a phone that was so slow I could barely use it for the last year while waiting for my upgrade eligibility date.

Since then I just don't do the Apple updates. I leave my unit in the original software version without new bells and whistles and it always works as the the day I bought it. If loading new versions causes draining batteries and freezes and other glitches then I don't need the headache. It would be acceptable if Apple had a path to truly restore to an original software version but they don't. They tell you to reset the upgraded version you have which doesnt get you back to out of the box restoral. It's ridiculous and not right to leave customers in upgraded software that is worse than the original version purchased. As I said keep your updated versions and I'll take the updated version when I buy my new device. Usually it's a lot less headaches.

If I could turn back my IPad 1 to original factory version it came with I'd do it in a flash because it runs like junk now on 5.1 and I'm tired of rebooting it all day and clearing the cache in Safari to get some semblance of a working Ipad.

Not sure this will help anyone but it seems to have work for me...related to after I updated was rebooting all by itself...I have 4 kids and 6 iPads imagine the headaches... So this iPad was powering off or seemed to me kinda rebooting by itself.. Took to Genius Bar and it's not really a bunch of geniuses they could not get it to connect to iTunes and get a full restore. So I played with it for about 10 hrs wife screaming... What I did it hit me when I decided it was going to be put on eBay. Was timing it and durn thing was kicking off after 2 mins. Funny thing is that was allotted time via the auto lock so I went into

Setting=general= auto lock= never and guess so far not having this issue... Hope this will help out like if it worked for you so I can devise the 10 hrs of mad wife and know I saved some guy/gal an ear full

If Apps keep closing: Use a desktop or Laptop only and go to iTunes and delete App (like Jackpot Party.)

Then you have to Use iTunes to restore your iOS device back to factory settings. ( 1st sync and back up your device to iTunes) Instructions here for sync, backup and restore:

After restore, go to iTunes store and download the App again ( if game, all levels/coins will still be there) I tried everything else, this is the only thing that worked! And it worked great!!

Yes it fixed the crashing / closing of the apps problems. Follow these instructions, and make sure you sync and back up your apps in iTunes, or your games will set back to level one. Backing up your apps 1st in iTunes, will insure your games will still be at the level you are at now, after you re-install them.

Use desktop or Laptop Only

Sync your device on iTunes

Back up your device on iTunes

Delete App(s) that are crashing

Reset your mobile device back to factory settings

Re-install you apps from iTunes

I was having the same problem as everyone else. iPad after 2 years, out of nowhere started shutting down and it wouldn't turn back on. I would have to plug on the wall and leave it for 30min, then it would turn on again but only to give me the same problem 5 min later.

SOLUTION:

In the few minutes I had after charging on the wall I:

1 - Plugged the cable to computer (not plugged into iPad yet)

2 - Hold "home" button and plug the cable to iPad

3 - Hold until iTunes symbol shows up, release

4 - Setup as a NEW iPAD - forget about restoring from your last backup

5 - Once that is completed, go to iTunes and install all your past apps from the list again

Basically, you need to reset your iPad to the way it was from when you bought it. Seems to be a software issue and Apple is not solving the problem.

Good luck muchachos.
