The Safari Can't Find The Server - Error!

After updating my iPad and Mac OSX to the latest version, I am constantly getting 'The Safari Can't find the server' error on valid addresses. I have to refresh a few times to access the website.

I have gone through many posts and I gathere that it is not a Mac issue, but something to do with network settings - DHCP/Proxy. But I still could not figure out how to solve the problem.

If someone can guide/advise me then that would be a great help..

Thanks

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

I saw this suggestion in another post and i was wondering whether it matters whether you change this where you have suggested - in the Sys Pref & Network - OR whether you can/should change it in the router settings - where it says this (in my router)

Domain Name Server (DNS) Address
Get Automatically From ISP
Use These DNS Servers
User uploaded filePrimary DNS...
User uploaded fileSecondary DNS...

The "Get Automatically from ISP" was selected. I changed it to custom primary & secondary DNS after running the namebench.app to get recommended servers. I was thinking of using the ones suggested by you and others (and might after alittle more research on openDNS).

So im wondering where to change it and whether it matters? Router or Computer?

I messed up copying from my router in the post above so when you click the links something funny might happen and i can't edit the post because it says i now don't have permission to edit it.... So here is the post again. If a moderator wants to delete the post would be good.
