Apple ID PLUS an @me account showing up... why?
I'll try to be succinct and clear, but I'm not even sure I understand the problem here. :-) I have a MBP, and iPhone 4 and an iPad. When iCloud came out I was excited and followed the instructions, or so I thought. On the phone and pad I have an iCloud account using my AppleID which is my primary address. On the Mac however, when I set up the cloud, it asked me to also create an @me address, which I did. So now in Mail on the MacBook only I have two accounts, one is my AppleID account the other is the @me account however, they seem to be identical. Meaning, when I type a Note on the phone it pushes to both the APPLE ID account and the @me account. Photo stream is linked only to the AppleID so no duplication there.
Here's the issue... when I go into mail settings on the MBP and want to change anything like remove notes from inbox in the settings, it tells me I can't save the settings because the directory is already in use. So I go to the other account and it tells me the same message. I guess it's not that big of a deal to have two accounts with the same information, but I'm not sure I understand how it happened, or if I wanted to delete one, which one to delete.
Again they appear to be mirror images of the other in content, etc. The only odd thing is one is under the Apple ID the other is under the @me account. This however is NOT the case on the iphone or ipad. It's only a duplication on the MBP, and to further confuse the issue, the two accounts ONLY appear in mail. Meaning, iCal, photostream, address book, all only show the icloud account once. It's only on the in box that I see on account listed as icloud (AppleID credentials) and another inbox with the @me address (Same credetials as the AppleID)
Can anyone A) Understand what I've said here.. I'm not sure I do :-) and B) offer a solution?
Thanks.
