Album artwork won't show up on iPad 2 w/ "Match"

Quick bump for this. I'm seeing the same issue.

Yep, me too only it's maybe 1 out of 30 where the album art is there when I click on the artist but is missing from the overall tab view. Downloading or playing doesn't seem to make a difference and yet as I'm scrolling through the list I've seen blanks sometimes update with the album art.

I'm having the same problem, except I dont have itunes match enabled.

I synced my ipad and unchecked all my albums to remove them. Then I re-synced with the albums selected. They went back on WITH the artwork under 'artists' but then for some reason the next time I sync, some of the artwork under 'artists' is gone leaving only a music note for the cover.

It also has nothing to do with the cloud backup as I have experienced this with both backing up to the cloud and to my mac.

I had the same problem and I went into the music settings and turned off group by album artist. That seemed to work for me.

Thanks gianelli, that worked for me. An acceptable workaround until Apple issues a fix.

I can confirm that I am having the same issue and that disabling group by album artist fixed the problem. However, most of my music is intentionally grouped with album artist field so this workaround is not ideal. Everyone should submit a bug report on this.

when i turn off the "group by artist" option, the problem was solved in parts, cause some tunes dont have the artworks correctly. (using on my iphone 4 s).

well... maybe is just a bug, but now i will check my songs without artwork and upload again (so sad...).

I have a solution with any missing artwork. It may take a while, but it works.

Simply change the Album Artists name. For instance, Britney Spears,. Change to 'Dave'. The Artwork will appear. Now change the name back and it's there.

For me the solution was NOT selecting "Convert higher bit rate songs to..." on the Options of the front iPad page on iTunes. This isn't a problem on the iPhone, but for some reason on the iPad the conversion loses the album covers...whatever, problem solved!

Same issue here. The artist view doesn't show album art for many artists, even if in the album view they are there.

Same issue here with iPhone 4. No iTunes Match. Missing album arts on iPhone when using "Convert higher bitrate songs to ..." option. On Mac, the library looks fine.
