Iphone 4s white - pictures hazed with flash

Is it just me or can anyone experience the same issue with their white iphones.

I was taking pics with my iphone 4s WHITE the other night(with the FLASH ON) with my friends and noticed that the pics have a disturbing white haze on them.

we took the same pics on my friend Iphone 4 BLACK(with the FLASH ON) and the pictures came out to be good.

Please let me know if this is a common problem with the iphone 4s or with the iphone 4/4s WHITE model.

is there a fix for the issue.

Have a case on your phone? It's a known issue with the white iPhone and "some" cases.

nope, i have the white bumper from apple that covers only the sides of the iPhone.

so... i had the same problem and i realized the clear film protector that comes on the phone when you purchase it was still on the back of my phone (under my case) .. i would check your phone... =)

Had the same issue. Exchanged for a black phone. Light leaks through the white back and, from what I can tell, blooms into the len's field of view far too close to the lens.

So, did Apple acknowledge the fact that this is an issue with the white iPhone 4S?

also, to the previous post, i did check that my back glass doesnt have any palstic on it......

I didn't go to a Genius about it. Just returned the white and got the black. It was at that point that I started looking on the boards to see if I was the only one.

No I'm not sure that's the problem. I replaced the back of my white iPhone with one from iFixit, and I have the problem as described. I've had this phone since day 1 and hadn't noticed any problems with my pictures before now.

I had this issue but mine was case related. I kept noticing fogginess when the flash was on, I tried the flash when my phone was case free and the fogginess went. Do give the camera lens a thorough clean as well, this worked for me to get lovely clear pics and videos.

You might have an easier solution than you think. Question: DID YOU REMOVE THE CLEAR PLASTIC BACKING FROM YOUR IPHONE WHEN YOU GOT IT? I didn't, and my flash pictures were all cloudy as described above. Then I discovered and removed the backing and guess what? Perfect pictures. Easiest fix ever.

I use an apple white bumper, the pictures were hazy even before I put on the bumper

Like i mentioned in m earlier post, i dont have any plastic on the back, like you mentioned i tried cleaning the lens as well, it didnt fix my issue though.

Hi, I have had my white 4S now for just 2 weeks and have not had this issue. However I purchased a black "speck" protector case and screen protector with the phone. This my have stopped the issue. Maybe buy a black case like mine and see if it fixes the issue, cheaper than going back and trying to swap phones.

I know that might be the only possible solution left for me.

but doesnt that beat the purpose of buying the white iPhone, after all the buzz for the white model after it was announced with the iPhone 4.

As of now I am just avoiding any flash photos, but if I cant in the future, i would go get it swapped for the black version.

Having the same problem for two months with a Black 4s. My wife's white one takes perfect flash pictures. Some forums seem to point the case being the problem, but I have not been able to prove that. Most flash photos in dark areas turn out very hazed and whited out. People eyes may be all white. Unacceptable. Frustrated. Time for trip to apple store?
