itunes chopping off end of songs now that i signed up for match

Signed up for itunes match with 2011 imac, latest updates of itunes and lion on mac and latest update on ipad 2.

Noticed during playback on ipad2 that LOTS of songs are cut off at the end...they end 15 - 20 seconds early, abruptly...not sure why?

Please help, thank you in response!

I had a call with Apple on this yesterday and a follow-up call this morning. So far, they've had me delete all Apple-related files - iTunes, QuickTime, etc. and then re-load them. I listed to iTunes music yesterday and this morning and so far haven't had any issues, where I was definitely having issues previously. But that's only an hour or so of listening in total. I'll be curious to see what they say on the call in 2 hours. Stay tuned...

Hello All... What a frecking DISASTER!!! heres my situation

- I use Itunes to hold my "music" files.

- For the last couple years ive also been downloading Audiobooks from a CD to my itunes Library

- AS of OCT. 16th, 2011 some/most of these books have chops in them, some books have 200 tracks 3-7 min long some are very short some are even longer than 15 min. tracks

- But all my books before Oct. 16th, 2011 are perfect.

- its not every trackthat skips to the next, but the ones that are "corrupted" do have just a music symbol instead of the picture ive chosen to download as the book cover.

- The Artwork idea is a solid one but its not 100% because ive imported a pic for all my books and still not all of them are corrupted.

- but as of March of this year (2012) 90% + of the books ive gotten are corrupt of more than half the audio.

- Impossible to listen to and very hard to find all these books again, lots of work involved in getting certain ones.

- Whatever it is that is ******* everyone off here is getting worse.

- Very Random and unpredictable

- I do have some books that are perfect from just yesterday with like a 10 disc set and all are perect - and then right after im done with that book ill try and download a different one with 10 discs, and it has problems.

- I also have tried deleting a troubled book, renting a different copy of that same book and downloading to find that it is still corrupt and is even worse of a chop, instead of 45 seconds gone its 65 seconds???

- I thought it was the brand of CD's that was being copied but havent found any pattern yet?

Thanks for reading and Any help is always welcome!!!!!

Something news: Apple Support told me that my account is OK and that the problem "coul be" the IPAD and to continuosly update the IOS !!!!! This means that they perfectly Know that Itunes Match does not work at all!

I tried to use itunes Match on my old Ibook g4, Snow Leopard and Itunes 10 and all perfectly works: no chopped songs, no mute......

We have probably to wait for IOS 5.1.2 .....

I've been having the same problem. It seems to be only on songs bought off of iTunes. I don't have an iPad or use and of the iCloud/iMatch services. I've had to erase and take off of back-up about 50 songs. A few songs have completly disappearwed except for the title. You go to play that song snd it just skips to the next. I really wish this would get sorted out!!!

Add me to the list of iTunes match downloads that are corrupted...chopped off. I have had at least 30 tracks that were chopped. Re-Downloading them from iTunes again solves the problem. But how many more tracks are chopped in my library that are yet to be discovered, after matching them and downloading them (replacing my lower bitrate versions)? Next time it might be when I'm listening to my iPod and I can't easily re-download them.

THANK YOU ROBSMITH78.

You have given a solution which not only works but is simple. I have been as frustrated as everyone else with the chopped off songs syndrome. Spent days on it. Your solution has saved my life (and my sanity).

Of course it would be very nice if you chaps at Apple actually did somethng about this widespred and catastrophic problem. Is any one out there ???

Interesting that the end result is that the last 30 seconds or so of songs are being chopped off for all of us, but the circumstances are not all the same.

I have one particular album (The Imperials - Love's Still Changing Hearts) where every song cuts off 20-30 seconds early on all my iDevices, but not when played in iTunes on my PC. The album was ripped from a CD, but all songs on the album are "matched." I have tried every suggestion in this thread except reverting to syncing songs to iTunes with a cable the old-style way. Nothing has worked. I'm just glad it is limited to this one album for me and that this album is not particularly that good. I just have no more ideas of why it would be limited to this specific set of circumstances for me and no clue what to do next.

I made an AAC copy of one of the songs, deleted it from iCloud and iTunes. Then added back the AAC version and updated Match. When the song appeared on my iPhone, I downloaded it. 98% of the song downloaded in a minute or two. Then for about 30 minutes it sat with just a little bit left to go, like it was having trouble downloading the last....oh, say 20-30 second of the song. I walked away and when I came back later it appeared to have completely downloaded, but still cut off 26 seconds of the song.

But it sat like this for around 30 minutes, while I monitored it:

It doesn't seem to matter whether I am in imatch or not. It doesn't seem to matter if the song was bought through itunes on ripped off a CD. I can't seem to figure any patter to the clipping but a large percentage (> 40%) are clipped. It doesn't seem to matter whether I use my macbook Air, IPOD Classic, IPAD2 or IPhone 4S. The only thing that is consistent is that the clipping occurs in the same songs at the same place regardless of the device. The clipped songs seem to play w/o clipping in quicktime, making this an itunes problem. Waiting for an Apple fix...

Please Contact Apple. I spoke to them, and based on a lot of time with this issue, it is clear to me that the issue is with iTunes, and not anything to do with the original music files. HOWEVER, IN SPEAKING ON THE PHONE WITH APPLE TECH SUPPORT, THEY INDICATED THEY HAVEN"T HEARD MUCH ABOUT THIS ISSUE, AND SO THEIR ASSUMPTION IS THAT THIS IS NOT A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. So please reach out to Apple tech support - because if they don't hear from enough people, my guess is that they won't do anything about this any time soon.

As far as addressing the issue, I have had success with making copies of songs and changing the extension to .m4a on my computer. However, for the fixed files to get loaded onto my iPhone and iPad, you have to erase the affected songs on the iPhone or iPad, and then load the fixed files. If you just fix the songs on the computer but don't do anythign on the iPhone or iPad, it won't erase the problem files on those devices.

I have this problem but ONLY on my Ipad! I download playlists on my old Macbook G4 and they perfectly play! But the same playlist on the Ipad chops and skip to the next or mute. I tried to explain to Italian Apple Support but they ask me the code error (none) or the screenshot........

In my reply I always attach the link to this discussion in order to show that is not only a mine problem!

I tried several times to delete playlist from my Mac a to upload again but the problem still remain with the same songs and at the same time!

I suggest to reset my itunes match account to re-upload the songs (even if the problem is also with matched songs) but nothing was done.

My opinion is that Apple has no Idea which is the problem and how solve it!

I've discovered today that I have the same problem. I've been trying to find a solution all day.

After doing a update on iTunes software, I noticed that some of the songs would stop playing, some near the beginning others in the middle.

When I tried to sign-in I was forced to change my password and go through authencation.

I deactivated all my computers and reactivated only one (the only one I have at the moment).

Still the songs wouldn't play.

I haven't checked every song in my library but it looks like only the songs I bought from iTunes are affected.

I don't use Match or any other syncing method.

At least some of the songs giving trouble have "fairplay version" in the info.

Could there be a connection there?

When I played two of the songs in the Quicktime player they were ok. So it is not the actual file then that's corupted.
