"App Store Beijing" Credit Card Fraud

I've searched online to see if anyone else had a recent credit card number stolen for several $100+ purchases from "App Store Beijing"

I'm trying to find out if it's even relevant to the Apple App Store, or if it's just a fake company name.

I recently had several charges to make bank account of $103.20, which I quickly noticed and contacted my bank about the incident... they've currently frozen my account and have sent me a new card.

Not saying that it's tied with the incident, but I find it ironic/amusing that I recently visited a local chinese take-out for the first time just two days prior.

i just got hit with "crossoptilon beijing" for $480 plus an international transaction fee via google for $4.80. I got an alert from my bank, but because it was debit, the charge posted, then they credited me. I do not use the card with netflix, but do use it with itunes/ apple ipad apps (enter password to download free apps and sign in to games which is linked to my card on file with apple), and paypal. Even when i submit to remove it from paypal, they keep it there - which is fine now since the card is cancelled. I'm only using credit card with good protection from now on for every online account. slimy bastages....

i think apple needs to investigate because i think that's the culprit - someone intercepted my info that way I'm sure of it...

@abznthuphoria I can oh so relate to your story. Just last night these charges hit my card from the same Beijing, China. An iTunes charge nonetheless! This is my SECOND FRAUDULENT charge in less than A MONTH!!! and not for nothing?! I too, just recently went to an asian restaurant a few days ago. Can we say S-T-R-A-N-G-E coincidince? Anyway, the previous fraud was shortly after i went to the SAME restaurant, go figure! I called my bank and yesterday they had SEVERAL fraud charges from Beijing, China...odd. iTunes really needs to look into this matter and increase their security if at all possible. I'm wondering if i have a keylogger, but the similarites here on this site are all too coincidental to me. I dont use anything of the websites listed besides Amazon and iTunes, so that narrows it down somewhat. Although I'm so inclinded to not resist the similarity to the Chinese Restaurant that i visited on both Fraud time frames within the last month. Someone suggested to me that maybe i have a "keylooger"? Does anyone know anything about that? Ive also been enlightened to "Key Lock or Life Lock" or something to that nature?

Wow, I had the same thing happen to me on jan 24, 2012. Almost 300. in charges for iTunes china, as well as international fees. My bank is taking care of it, I called iTunes and there were 3 accounts with my credit card on it. Mine, my husbands and some dude in China. Apple support had the nerve to ask me if I authorized someone in China to use my card. Ummmm, why would I be calling and telling them I had fraudulent charges??? I'm in Pennsylvania, not China! I asked them how they can assure me it won't happen again, answer? They can't and I can't prove it was because of their system that someone yanked my card. So I told them I'll probably just get rid of my apple products. They didn't seem to care. Nice, so they just allow it to happen and they don't do anything to assure their customers info are safe. Oh but try did shut that account down and flag the credit card in case someone tried to use it on another new account. I canceled the card so they won't be able to use it again.

Hi There, I am writing from Woodside, NY.

Tonight, when I got home, I had the bad surprise that my Debit Card had been charged, through Paypal!!! with $21.76, and I guess it had been from China too... (it was made from 快乐棋牌 ).

Apple and Itunes should be farther more careful with anything coming into our accounts and Debit/Credit Cards from China. It should be the option of second veryfication step available for customers, before any order (purchase) is made.

This is a HUGE SCAM.

Please, someone from Apple should talk with the big guys. Unvailable all this is being happened with Apple 😟!!!

I'm still surprised that this is still going on. I'm still not sure if it's tied to Apple at all, or rather the only people posting on here have an account with Apples to begin with (others may be having this issue, but are not Apple users and not searching for this).

I hope y'all are able to get your money refunded in a timely manner.

I asked about that and they have already investigated the common element and of the hundreds of customers they have looked into they all have the common Itunes account. The charge isn't from iTunes China, but the information they are using is from Apple accounts.

And maybe you've received better customer support from apple but my experience from apple has already left a bad taste, so I would not be suprised if apple didn't let their customers know.

I have never had any problem with Apple- in fact they have always been responsive to any issue (i've only had a couple - one for broken ipod, another for trouble with itunes downloads) in a good way and resolved it. But this was a wakeup reminder to limit my debit use online and use a credit card instead, change my account passwords frequently, and not store payment information with any site if at all possible - and stay on top of checking charges - that's what really saved me - and I had a big fraudulent charge $480 - who knows how long it could have gone on had i not caught it. Also know your debit/credit/bank fine print as far as your protection goes! I was lucky, but the threat is always there I suppose...

I have been a victim of false charges on my credit card. I noticed the charges were made today 5/9/12. There were four separate changes. Two charges for $49.99, one for $44.95, and one for $27.94. All it says is it was for "APL*APPLE ITUNE866 712 7753" and nothing else. I call the 866 number and it is a recording to go to online support at apple.com/support/cc.

I called my band immediately and am disputing the charges and opened up a claim, but now I have to wait 5 to 10 days for a new card to be issued. Ugh

I can't even remember last time I was on iTunes. I haven't even done any of the updates because we don't use it.

Unbelievable. Frustrating and upsetting. I went to Apple site to find out who to contact and it is not easy to find out who exactly to call for help to find out where the charges came from and what they are for. That is a **** of a lot of money to spend at iTunes.
