Try:

- Resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Powering off and then back on your router.

- Reseting network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

- iPhone and iPod touch: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

What security are you using? Try changing the security and even tring no security.

Hi guys,

You need to post more informaiton about your networks. What routers are you using? Are you both using a Mac to administer the the router settings, or PC's? Firstly check that your router settings are as follows;

  • Use WPA2 Personal security. Not WEP.
  • Check that MAC Filtering or Timed Access is disabled
  • That you have DHCP server mode on and set to Automatic. Also that your begining and ending ranges are wide enough apart, for apple wireless base stations this is 2. to .200
  • NAT Port Protocol Mapping is turned on if you have a simple internet modem connected to a router. If you have a Modem+Router combo attached to another router, the second router should be in Bridge Mode.
  • Check your not using 5GHz, and only 2.4GHz.
  • Disable 40MHz in the 2.4GHz settings on the Wi-Fi router. Mac devices do not support this mode. Disabling it may reduce interference issues.
  • Can you use your wireless internet with other devices or computers to access the internet?
  • Try updating the router even if nothing seems out of place by switching some setting back and forth so its as it was, but allows you to still click "Update setting" or whatever your Router Interface says.

Good luck :]
