Donald Duck movies on iPad

I have a somewhat special question. I would like to get a collection of the classical Walt Disney Disney Donald Duck short movies (30s, 40s 50s) onto my iPad for a long flight. They seem not to be available through iTunes. Many are available on YouTube, which I guess means they are out of copyright? I see a couple of options myself

1. Buy a collection somewhere digitally, and get it into iTunes someway.

2. Buy a DVD [are they available on DVD?] and rip the DVD and get it into iTunes. How would I do that?

3. Download the youtube videos. I believe there are some web sites that can handle download of youtube videos. Any suggestions? This is quite a lot of work, although free, so I would prefer one of the other options.

Any suggestions? I have to embark on a 24 hour flight with a four year old, so I would like as many diversions as possible.

Apple makes it very hard to rip dvds to a computer (for copywrite issues). There is not default application to do this. You will need to find some software software else. I use an application call dvd riper HD. It is avalable on the mac app store, or you can download it from their website (just google dvd riper hd). The youtube thing might work, however I have never tried it so I wouldn't know.
