New purchased/added music not showing up in iTunes music library

Here's what's going on with my Mac. I've purchased some new music off iTunes and also added music not purchased directly from iTunes into my Music Library but it doesn't show up. The purchased iTunes music only shows up in the Purchased playlist automatically created when you buy new items off iTunes. If I go looking for those files in my Music Library, they are nowhere to be found. Using the Finder and looking at the iTunes directory, the files are indeed in there but for some reason they do not show up in the Library.

I also have iTunes Match. The weird thing is, it is automatically pushing out that new media to my iOS devices fine but for whatever reason, it will not display it on my Mac's iTunes Music Library. I have tried going to Store -> Update iTunes Match. It comes out saying the right amount of files synced but still doesn't show them in my Music Library.

I had the same issue, but also included new movies and TV shows. Switching off iTunes Match and they all showed up, and when I switched it on again, they all stayed there. This is the first time this has happened, but this is a brand new iMac - never happened on the old one. Will see if it happens again - don't really want to have to switch off iTunes Match everytime I want to add something!

So, I was having the very problem being discussed here. Finally, after trying so many things. And going back and forth. It just miraculously dawned on me and I do mean miraculously... it was planted into my brain from God. I just went to my [C:\Documents and Settings\Dell\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music ] folder and right clicked and pushed refreshed. And everything I was looking for was there...Praise God... Hope this helps someone!!!

I had a similar issue, in that after downloading prior purchases, the music appeared in the Purchased section of iTunes, but were not appearing in the Music Libary listing. Amazingly the solution was as simple as highlighting and copying/pasting the music from Purchased to Music. I didn't quit/restart iTunes to see if they showed up that way, but cutting/pasting the file list from Puchased to Music worked for me.

Having the same issue, except with Win7 computer. Just started today with a couple new album purchases. Previously no problems ever, but now they show up in playlists and on iDevices but not library. I've turned on/off itunes match, restarted a few times. It's a glitch. Clearly. Across platforms. With this many folks having an issue it's something that needs to be fixed, and turning on/off itunes match, restarting or whatever ain't it. At least not for me. It's REALLY ******* me off.

Here's the answer to the problem: Your library may be corrupt. You have to create a new library and import all of your media into that new library per a good tech support guy (Eric).

Here's what you do: 1) Quit iTunes; 2) Restart iTunes while holding down the Option key; 3) Click on Creat New Library; 4) Name the library or leave the suggested name as is; 5) Click ok and let it create the new library (this will end up with a new empty library); 6) Go to File, Add to Library; 7) Select your old iTunes folder and click Open (all of your media should now copy into the new library).

After everything copies you can delete the old library and rename the new on if you choose. Everything should work beautifully now. :-)

Something has obviously change with the iTunes funciton as I too have had problems with music downloads that don't appear in the sacred library. My iPhone hass always synced with my iMac and when it didn't this time,, I went looking for the culprit. I believe that they are probably somewhere in my Mac, but where. This brings me back to some of the problems I had with Macs years ago, the same kind of problem, except it was software downloads.

Now that Mac has it's Cloud working, I believe that is where they music is ending up, and I don't need it there..

Apple has a problem and they need to address it. I also found that updating iTunes did not resolve the problem.
