New purchased/added music not showing up in iTunes music library

Here's what's going on with my Mac. I've purchased some new music off iTunes and also added music not purchased directly from iTunes into my Music Library but it doesn't show up. The purchased iTunes music only shows up in the Purchased playlist automatically created when you buy new items off iTunes. If I go looking for those files in my Music Library, they are nowhere to be found. Using the Finder and looking at the iTunes directory, the files are indeed in there but for some reason they do not show up in the Library.

I also have iTunes Match. The weird thing is, it is automatically pushing out that new media to my iOS devices fine but for whatever reason, it will not display it on my Mac's iTunes Music Library. I have tried going to Store -> Update iTunes Match. It comes out saying the right amount of files synced but still doesn't show them in my Music Library.

I am so frustrated. Since I updated my iphone 5 to the 7 operating system, the songs I download through the itunes store do not show up on my iphone's itunes. I transfer them to my computer and they show up there but will not show up on my iphone itunes. I even make a playlist on my computer's itunes and put some of the newly purchased songs on that playlist. When I download that playlist to my iphone, those new songs are mysteriously not there although the rest of the playlist is. I've tried lots of tricks mentioned on this board but nothings worked. I dont use match and have restarted my computer and itunes....

Please help! Thank you!

This information was just given to me via the Apple Chat Support & seemed to work for me.

Windows

Please take the following steps to see if this resolves the issue you are having.

1. Locate and click on Edit right next to File in the application toolbar at the top of the application, and click Preferences.

2. From there, click on the Advanced tab, and click on Reset warnings and Reset cache, then click OK.

3. From there, close the iTunes application.

4. From there, open the Music folder on your computer. You can locate this folder by clicking the Start menu, then going to Music. Once you locate the Music folder, open it and then open the iTunes Media folder and open the Downloads folder. If there are any items in the Downloads folder, go ahead and delete them and empty the trash.

5. From there, go ahead and reopen iTunes and try the download again.

Hope this helps

Not sure if anyone posted this but i had this issue on my iPad. Purchased songs seemed to vanish without a trace. I couldn't find them by searching and iTunes tried to get me to buy them again. Turns out these purchases became hidden. Here's how I fixed it on my iPad:

1. Opened iTunes Store

2. Tapped my Apple ID on the bottom left corner of main music store page

3. Selected view account option

4. Selected hidden purchases option

5. From there I was able to redownload missing songs from the cloud.

Everything now shows up in my music library. Hope this helps!

After updating to the new issue of itunes (11.1.4.62) which by the way I had problems with. I purchase a song on my ipad and it did not show up on my download list on itunes in my windows pc running windows 7. I checked my iphone and it did show up there. To make a long story short after trying many things to correct hte problem I did the following and it worked for me:

Go to edit, choose preferences from the drop dowm menu, choose store, check the "show itunes in the cloud purchases box and click apply. When you sign onto itunes the song will appear with the cloud icon next to it and you can click that to download the song. Hope it works for you.
