New purchased/added music not showing up in iTunes music library

HelmutR, that worked for me, thank you.

So disable "show purchases in the iTunes cloud" in Edit | Preferences | Store. I had emailed apple and they replied that they are working on this issue.

HelmutR and theclint - disabling didn't entirely work for me. I had to reenable it for them to show. In addition, other items in my library (tv shows and movies) suddenly show'd a cloud icon for download once I re-enabled it.

Thank goodness I didn't have to import/export library or something like some people suggrested. But this is definately an issue.

I tested buying another song and it went right into the library ok. I burnt an hour on this today - furstrating, hopefully Apple can push a fix or fix the cloud or whatever the issue is. 😠

Wow! When did apple products become like Windoze!? I tried a couple of suggestions, none of them worked. Finally quit iTunes and restarted it just like I would have with some POS windoze app. That finally convinced icktunes to "see" my newly purchased music. Sad. Sad. But this is ridiculous. iTunes should have just automatically seen my new music. I've had a beer. I should stop typing before I start using polysyllabic words like reprehensible or suggesting that the biggest problem in this country is idiotic moronic upper & middle management. To borrow from the movie "Clueless", "I have a .45 and a shovel, no one is going to miss you."

hey gang i found that if you simply sign out of your itunes account it will all appear, then just sign back in easy as.

Had same problem. Your fix worked. Sign out and back in. Boom song there. Nice

Wow, I tired everything I could think of also to get my itunes into the proper folder for backup. First, I had to download all the music form Icloud within the itunes interface, the little cloud beside all my purchases, then when I checked mt Itunes media foler they still were not there. So I started to check the forums for a solution and came across your thread, I refreshed the folder and they were all there.

Today I tried to add a new album to my Itunes, you could see that Itunes was adding the music but when it was ready it didnt show up in the libary.

I tried reinstalling itunes, added all the music i had before and the new album, everything that i already had showed up but not my new album.

Make sure that you have "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" enabled in your iTunes preferences

1. Go to iTunes > Preferences
2. Select the "Store" tab
3. Check the box beside "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases"

Boom... it's all back... Who would ever want this to be off... by default...

What I did that worked for me is I went to my itunes store, scrolled down to the bottom and under features clicked purchased. I then clicked recent purchases, you will then see your list of music and on the right hand side of each song it should say downloaded or have a cloud with an arrow. The cloud with the arrow indicates it has not been downloaded so just click on it and it should download. hope this helps somebody.

What just this minute worked for me on my iPad is in Music on the iPad under the choice of 'Other' to selected music the choice "Share" appeared and it had not been their til now. The choices were iPad and Mike's Library which is where the iTunes Match/Cloud music is stored.

I don't know what I changed but, that choice had not been there until today!

I had a similar issue, where I've purchased music via my iPhone, but then on my iPad and Macbook, the music shows "Purchased" but doesn't have the download icon available.

To fix this I had to adjust the "Hidden Purchases" option as described in this KB article:
