New purchased/added music not showing up in iTunes music library

Here's what's going on with my Mac. I've purchased some new music off iTunes and also added music not purchased directly from iTunes into my Music Library but it doesn't show up. The purchased iTunes music only shows up in the Purchased playlist automatically created when you buy new items off iTunes. If I go looking for those files in my Music Library, they are nowhere to be found. Using the Finder and looking at the iTunes directory, the files are indeed in there but for some reason they do not show up in the Library.

I also have iTunes Match. The weird thing is, it is automatically pushing out that new media to my iOS devices fine but for whatever reason, it will not display it on my Mac's iTunes Music Library. I have tried going to Store -> Update iTunes Match. It comes out saying the right amount of files synced but still doesn't show them in my Music Library.

I just spent about 30 minutes on the phone with customer support. I'm assuming that all of you have iTunes Match, if you do, the solution is simple. Go into the store dropdown on the top menu bar, and click "turn off iTunes Match" The songs should instantly appear in your library. All you then have to do is re-add the computer to iTunes Match and everything should work again.

Hope that helps.

I just tried doing this. Went to Store, selected Turn Off iTunes Match. Didn't show them. So I quit iTunes and relaunched. Still not showing them. Turned on iTunes Match, it scanned my files and finished. Still not showing up.

The files are already in my music library (in the iTunes folder). I originally added them by doing just that, dragging them into the iTunes Music Library. I have 233 songs only.

I received a reply to the e-mail that I sent. The support person basically just had me redownload the songs.

"My name is xxx here from the iTunes Store. I understand that that you can not see your purchases in your library, I'm sure you're looking forward to resolving this issue, and I'll be happy to help you today.

I was able to post a new copy of the "Order Number Here" to your xxx account, so that you can try downloading it once again. When you are ready, please follow these steps to initiate the download:"

When I restarted iTunes, the songs automatically downloaded again and now show in my "Library". I admit that I was a little annoyed by the following comment by the Apple rep:

"Also for future reference, because Apple does not offer protection for the loss of data from your hard disk, I always recommend that you back up your iTunes library as soon as possible and thereafter on a regular basis."

This was not an issue of me losing the songs. I had the copies of them. They were showing in the "Purchased" playlist and also in my iTunes music folder. The only issue was that they did not show in the "Library".

I have the same issue and I noticed it for the first time today. Purchased some music a week or so ago with no issues. I signed up for iTunes match on day one. Also have way over 25,000 songs so the few dozen I added today didn't tip me over what ever threshold is associated with 25k.

Also, my playlists do not download per 'copy to play order'. so that's irritating also. Not sure I understand the backup comment since isn't that one of the things the cloud can help us with?

I recon we just cling to the wreckage until Apple tries to sort it out....
