I don't think there is a option to sync via bluetooth. However with ios 5 you can sync over wifi.
Yes, you can connect over Bluetooth.
ah okay - how can I set up to sync over wifi?
that will work too
Go into settings and turn on wifi sync. It will automaticly sync when it is plug into a power source, or you can do it manually.
At stevejobsfan0124: Is that new? I tried doing that with my ipod touch 2g and it didn't work.
No, you can't sync to iTunes using BT. However, WiFi is an option.

If you're new to the iPhone, you may also want to take a look at the manual. It's bookmarked for you in Safari right on your phone.
Best of luck.
Did you try this just now? I did it about 15 minutes ago with an iPhone 4S and MacBook Pro.
No, I tried it a couple months ago. It must require ios5.
This is just plain wrong. You can NOT sync via bluetooth.
I was just thinking the same thing. iPhones can not, and never have been able to, connect to a computer via bluetooth. Well, Macs at least. I haven't tried on my PC.
stevejobsfan, can you explain your reasoning? I think you're mistaken.

They can connect, I believe, for the purpose of tethering.
Meg, you can pair them, but as soon as you try to connect to it, it tells you that the device is not supported. I have tried it on Snow Leopard, and I just tried it on Lion. With a 4S.
I think he means if you are using your iphone as a local hotspot.
There are directions of the Personal Hotspot screen on my iPhone for using it over WiFi, Bluetooth and USB. I haven't tried but I don't know why they would have included the directions if it weren't possible.
From the manual:
Personal Hotspot
You can use Personal Hotspot (iPhone 4 or later) to share an Internet connection with a computer
or other device—such as an iPod, iPad, or other iPhone—connected to your iPhone via Wi-Fi. You
can also use Personal Hotspot to share an Internet connection with a computer connected to
iPhone via Bluetooth or USB. Personal Hotspot works only if iPhone is connected to the Internet
over the cellular data network.

This guy browses the forums inventing responses. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to correct his misinformation.
