The trouble with Activity monitor is that it lists all processes and their users but not which are logged on. My system currently shows a whole load of 'users', most of which are not logged on.

Apparently the Server version of OSX lets you do exactly that.
Interesting. I wonder whether it's worth upgrading to the Server version just to get access to more information about what the system is doing (ie who is logged on, etc.)

I was happy to find this post because, I have an ethernet network with 2 users but received the message that stated that 36 users are sharing this computer!
Others have said it well. Apple needs to tell us more with this dialog, like a list of who these users actually are.
Is there any way anyone has figured out to correct this anomally?
