Updated to 4.4.3 - now Netflix won't take username/pw

Have unplugged/replugged everything, called Netflix (who changed pw to no avail), Apple (who said it was a netflix issue), reset all - still get the same message - Unable to sign in. The account name or password is incorrect. Please try again (117)

Using the remote that came with the AppleTV, can't even ENTER the pw (have had to do that through the remote app on iPad).

Looked through all the old posts - looks like there have been many issues between the two, but none that duplicate mine.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks Alicia. Similiar fix worked here.

1. Logged into Netflix and changed password.

2. Unplugged AppleTV for 30 secs

3. Launced Netflix -- was prompted for new password.

4. Watching movies and eating popcorn 🙂

It's actually even easier than that for me. Hold the down arrow and menu buttons to force a restart. Open Netflix and enter authentication info. No unplugging, changing passwords, etc. were needed in my case, but YMMV.

Ok, well I tried everything listed here - new PWs, un/replugged, etc., even tried on a different TV. The ONLY thing that allows Netflix to play is by mirroring my iPad through Airplay. Rube Goldberg solution for sure, but works (for now at least)...

I finally got Netflix to work by updating to 4.4.4, logging into Netflix with my computer, changing my password and restarting the Apple TV.

Had the exact same issues after updating apple tv. My solution was

1. Unplugged Apple TV for a few minutes

2. Changed Netflix password online

3. Turned on Apple TV

4. Directly to Netflix Setup

5. Put in user name and password

6. IT WORKED!!!!

7. Back to online, changed Netflix password back to the original.

Currently I have netflix on over 10 devices in my home....Everything seems to be working fine now.

Tried the password chane and the reset and the unplugging but nothing works. Any other suggestions?

The steps Preacher mentioned worked for me. At first I tried the Menu and Down Arrow option to reset the box with no success. Once I unplugged the Apple TV, I went directly to Netflix and entered the information using the Remote App on my iPhone. Success!

Preacher's solution finally worked. And Barry, for the record, while disagreeing with the "rants" posted was understandable, smugly posting that we should check in the "little manual" was not. As most of us had been using our Apple TV devices to watch NetFlix for QUITE some time (and yes--on a wireless network), don't you think it's a little presumptuous for you to declare that everything was ok with your set, and therefore imply that somehow it should be the same with ours? For the record, unplugging the device, changing my password online, and then re-plugging the device in and re-entering the password was the ONLY thing that worked after a month of frustration. So when the same thing happens to you try that--and no--it's not in the little manual.
