I was trying to upload a video from my iphone 4 onto youtube when I fell asleep. The morning of, the video was in the process of downloading I wanted to stop downloading it because I wanted to do something else with the video. But I hit the delete button thinking it would just stop the download not remove the video from my phone. How do I recover my deleted file?
If you didn't back it up or extract it to your computer in between the time you created it and the time you deleted it, it is gone. Permanently. There is no "undo".
If the video was shot on your phone, it would be included in your iphone backup. Thus restoring from your most recent backup(assuming the video is part of that backup) will restore it to your phone.
I have this same problem with my iPhone 4s. When I try to view the video file I shot on the phone in either image capture or iphoto, the thuimbnail appears but it says that it is 0 kb... Does this mean its corrupted? Please help

Hello! You have 2 ways to recover your video from iPhone 4:
First of all: Don't sync your iPhone with iTunes anymore after you find that your video is lost, otherwise, the backup file will be updated and then you can't get back the lost video. And don't use your iPhone for anything, if you want to directly scan and recover videos from your iPhone.
Part 1: Scan and extract iTunes backup to recover videos for iPhone 5/4S/4/3GS
1:Select the device backup to scan
You are in front of the backup files for the device. Just choose the one of your iPhone and click the "Scan" button to extract the content from your iPhone backup file.
Note: The number of backup files you can get here depends on how many Apple devices you've synced with iTunes before.
2:Recover deleted iPhone videos
After the scan, the whole backup content are extracted and also displayed. You can check the video which is in .mpeg format in general, and click "Recover" on the top menu to store it on your computer.
Part 2: Directly scan and recover deleted videos from iPhone 4/3GS
1:Connect your iPhone to the computer
Connect your iPhone to the computer with a digital cable. Here are two recovery modes: recover from device or from iTunes backup file. Choose the first one and move on.
2:Enter the DFU mode and scan iPhone
Hold your iPhone and click "Start" button.
Pressing "Power" and "Home" buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
After 10 seconds, release "Power" button, but keep holding "Home" for another 10 seconds.
When you're told that you've entered the DFU mode, release the "Home" button.
3:Preview and recover deleted videos from iPhone
When the scan is completed, all your data on your iPhone or lost from iPhone are found and listed in organized categories. To find your videos, check the "Camera Roll", which contains captured pictures and videos. Hi there. I just read your message in response to Vsue14 , regarding his problem at trying to recover a video. You are probably one of the most kindest people that I've actually ever heard of on these community sites. I can't understand why, that some people who have chosen to 'HELP' others, seem only to be on the forums so they can almost take the P out of people who have come to them for advice. My faith was knocked down by a boulder when I was in desperate need for some help and advice whilst on the EBay site. I was basically laughed at when I posted my dilemma. And to be honest with you I was so embarrassed that I didn't go onto even Ebay for a few weeks. I have been back onto the comments that were made and posted a reply, where I basically told them that people like them, give Help Forums a bad name. So you can imagine my delight when I came across your response to Vsue14s' cry for help. The first couple did try, and that was nice to read. But blow me down!! When I read your message, well "You went above and Beyond". And that just goes to show that you really are on here to help people, and my faith is now Fully Restored.
