how do i change brightness on facetime hd camera?

I just got a brand new MacBook Pro 17 late 2011. The problem is the facetime hd camera shows too dark on skype when talking with friends. Doing the same thing with iPhone4S or Sony Vaio laptop is much better in terms of the brightness of the video. Is there a way to change this brighness level with the camera? I tried turning on the screen brighness level on MBP which seemed to help but not much. I would be surprised if Apple does not have a way to change the brighness on the built in facetime hd camera. Or is facetime hd camera is so bad, worse than my 4 year old sony vaio's built in camera?

Hi frederic1943,

Thanks for your reply, but I find it rather disturbing to pay for a 3rd party application, especially if I ended up paying more than 3 times for a laptop that has a built-in camera at least 3 times worse compared to a windows based sony vaio laptop.

Is there any other way that the brightness could be changed so that the video when using skype becomes clear enough?
