I am so sorry but both answers sound great but I dont quite get it. Do you mean go to the help button at the top of the screen; is that 'spotlight' if not

1 where is spotlight.

2 Where do I find the root level of HD

3 I went to look at 'Easyfind' but cannot find anything on templates.

I am sure if I could do any of the above I would be breathing easier by now but panic reigns. thank you so much for trying to help, would you try some more please

Best wishes

Linda,

Spotlight is accessed by clicking on the magnifying glass icon at the upper right of your desktop screen. As Nick suggested, it's a long shot.

To follow the path I gave you, click on the finder icon and in the left pane under devices, click on Macintosh HD.

Did you download Easyfind and do a search for "templates"? If you did and didn't find the DVD STudio Pro files, then find the install disks and install the content.

By the way, have you used DVD STudio Pro or other DVD authoring program before?

Good luck.

Hello Russ, I followed the path you specified, downloaded easyfind and found templates but it really is totally empty like old mother hubbards cupboard. I will reinstall the discs and hope that helps. I had thought of IDVD but it wouldnt accept the format of the wedding for some reason. I really dont know enough but hope this will change eventually.

I have used DV Studio Pro and was happy with the results albeit I only used it once.

Thank you again and thank you Nick

Hello again,

I have no templates at all in DVD Studio Pro.

I tried IDVD as you suggested, but here again there is a problem.I cannot import the work into IDVD. I decided to simply export and not have a pretty DVD, just a functional one. However when I was burning the DVD this message came up. ..'menus cannot exceed 1gb in total size. Reduce the amount of date in your menu. (The dvd is 59 mins long, it is HD. I exported in quicktime). I cannot see what I would take out of the DVD.

I was so confident that I had come up with a viable soloution and was burning the DVD that I emailed the couple to say thier DVD was ready to be posted. I am trying to compress it in now using settings 'DVD Best quality 90mins' Dolby digital professional 2.0 and Mpeg-2 6.2Mbps 2-pass. Destination 'Users Movies folder'

Could you please send some more ideas to help with this project.

Thank you

Hi Linda.

iDVD wants a "regular" QT movie (one file) – different than the separate video and audio streams that we get when we use Compressor to encode. So, if you want to use iDVD, create a new iDVD project, select your theme, and then import the Quick Time movie of your wedding.

This discussion has been so focused on trying to locate the missing DVDSP templates, we haven't learned much about the wedding movie itself. It would be useful to know something about it. If you open it in QuickTime player and hit command i, what does it say about format?

As to your experience in trying to produce a functional DVD, was that done in Final Cut Pro or in Compressor?

Thanks.

Hello Russ sorry for the delay in getting back when you are trying to help me. I was doing childrens birthday parties and stuff and when i got back to this computor I couldnt get quick time

to open. When I finally managed to open it and hit command nothing except the video came up to view.

When I said i was going for a functional DVD I just thought I would export to quicktime movie maker and burn it so when being played it would not have a menue or start stop button. However it wouldnt burn as there was too much information in it according to DVD studio Pro.

Although I was stabbing in the dark I sent the wedding to compressor last night, it took an age to do its work but this morning was unable to find it albeit it is named. ( any banging at this stage is my head on the desk)

Ive tried importing into DVD Studio pro but it is very fussy even when I re- xported for the millionth attempt into via 'Quick time' DVD Studio Pro wouldnt burn it as there was too much information in it. In desperation I have had to chop off in brutal fashion all the messages left for the bride and groom and am trying to burn a disc via DVD studio pro. I am doing this as I write and keeping my fingers crossed that it isnt rejected as having too much info yet agian.

Oh dear still too much info. Could it be that DVDSP cannot manage a HD project of 59.21 mins long.

I would dearly love to have this out of my hair and in the post for rnonday as letting the couple down again is too horrible.

best wishes

Sorry the project's turned into such a chore. But DVDSP should have no difficulty accommodating a movie much larger than yours. So something is amiss.

I would like to know more specifics about the movie you made. Open in QuickTime and hit command i and post what it says (even better, take a screen shot of the information and post that).

Hi Russ I also tried importin into IDVD and this message came up

your project exceeds the maximum content duration to burn your dvd. Change the encoder setting in the project info window.

that happened even though I chopped out the messages mentioned before. What on earth do I do?

I very much appreciate your help as without it I wouldnt even have it on IDVD albeit it wont burn as yet.

Best wishes
