ibooks ver1.5 pdf file name changed

After updating to version 1.5 (700) of iBooks on my iPad (ver1, iOS version 5.01), almost all of my pdf file names in iBooks are changing once I open those items. Some of the files change to what appears to be a property of the PDF file such as "Microsoft Word - (orginal file name)print.doc(x)" and other just get blanked out all together. The files names in iTunes when I connect my iPad seem fine, but within iBooks on the iPad it is a mess. Any ideas? My understanding is that the way to manage files names for PDFs in iBooks is through iTunes, but right now they seem out of sync.

It seems to fix the problem by just syncing with iTunes.

On a related subject, there is now an Apple app for Macs for creating interactive ebooks - iBooks Author - but it

only works with Macs running Lion.

It has fixed the porblem BUT...

Those PDF's of mine that had thier names (in the iBooks PDF listing) changed in ibooks dud not correct themslves... HOWEVER, Once I deleted those PDFs from iBooks and did a sync to re-load them, thier names where corrected and when opened did not change!!! Yay!

It's SORT OF fixed. Any files not previously opened (and thus screwed up) can be opened now and retain their file name. Any file that WAS opened (and thus screwed up) remains screwed up and can only be changed by removing and adding again (which means having to categorize it as well), or by manually changing the file as discussed earlier.

I'm glad it's fixed for the unaffected files, but it still stinks for all those files that have been opened and still need to be revised... 😐

FYI, make sure you have all the data in the fields BEFORE you initially sync them. Once they're sync'd once, they won't revise if you change them in iTunes. Apple *****...

The new iBooks works perfectly.

It will not correct re-named files from the previous version of iBooks, but it works again as we have come to expect.

My iBooks 2.0 did fix the renaming issue, but it still does not recognize my categories. By deleting and reloading, will my categories come back? I don't want to go through all that trouble again, if it isn't going to fix anything.

Deleted all files from my iPad, then did a complete iTunes sync. My authors category from metadata still only appears after I open the file, and my categories are still non-existent. Suggestions? Delete all my .pdf's out of iTunes, put them back and re-sync? Anyone else still suffering?

iBooks v2.0 just crashes non-stop on my iPad 1. I finally reinstalled v1.3.2 to get back to sanity and piece of mind.

This issue used to happen with my iPhone and iBooks, and now it's happening with my iPad. It's been happening for MONTHS. Unbelievable they haven't fixed this yet.
