home button is not responding

You can enable a touch version of the home button on your screen. Go to Settings>General>Accessibility>scrool to the bottom and turn on AssistiveTouch.

There is a floating home button built into the software. Settings, General, Accessibility, AssistiveTouch, ON. Works really well. A sales rep at the Apple Store - Naperville, IL, provided this info - after I had spent $90 at a local repair shop.

you can also try plugging in the power connector to the iPhone and gently wiggle the power connector either up, down, left or right while you press the home button.

to continue using the device, turn on asssistive touch in settings/general/accessability/assistive touch

tap the white dot in the corner, you can simulate the home button from there, i think there is a lock button there too.

Go to settings, general, accessibility and where it says AssistiveTouch click on. You will now be able to use the home button from on your screen and will not actually need the button itself 🙂
