List members: My MacPro won't boot into safe mode (holding shift key at start-up); the moving bar stops in the middle. I'm able to run fsck in single-user mode (command+S at start-up) without problems. All tests show my hardware to be OK. What could cause this strange behavior? Thanks for any thoughts.

OK, there is more information on this issue at this thread. Not specific to Mac Pros. Possibly related to RAM installed on the Mac, possibly cured in the 10.8.3 seeds (first time I've wanted to install a seed in a long time!).
