How can I get iPad apps mirrored on my AppleTV?

Thank you for your help but I have swiped both all the way to the right and all the way to the left and no icon. I have read the manual also and it has nothing about mirroring. I have read the trouble shooting in Apple Support for mirroring and tried their suggestions and I still can't get the icon.

Have you tried resetting the iPad?

Press and hold the home button and the wake sleep button, keep them both pressed until the apple logo appears.

Me too. We can only hope... Maybe you should update your ATV or iPad iTunes?

I got the newest iPad and ATV, yet there's an ATV AirPlay icon, but there isn't the choice of mirroring. What should I do?

Found out why I'm not getting the Apple TV icon on my iPad. It's something with my router that Apple doesn't like or that is not set right. I used my son's hotspot and as soon as I connected both iPad and ATV to the hotspot the icon popped up. Mirrored my photos in a slide show and watched youtube on my big tv and this is great! Now to get someone to figure out what's up with my router.

Animalover8 - you have to select the ATV and then you should get mirroring option.

I tried to mirrow movies I have in Ipad 1 using OPlayer with composite cable. I got only sound. I could mirrow the pics and some other applications, which indicates, that it's OPlayer which has problems with mirrowing (files are avi). Anybody has an idea which video application will mirrow Ipad 1?

iPad 1 does not have the ability to mirror. It can only use airplay or video out via cable with certain apps. If you receive only sound then it's something within the app that is likely causing issue or it has not been enabled for video.

Yes, I read about it and I understand it - do you know which other video player application would work? I read smth about AV Player, but not sure, if this one will work...

Don't have any direct experience but it sounds like that one has tv out capabilities
