no Thunderbolt on Mac Pros?

We just bought 4 new Mac Pro towers...like $20,000...and the 4TB external Thunderbolt RAID unit (for video editing work mostly)

Now we find out the Mac Pro's don't have thunderbolt? Really? There is no adaprter card or anything?

You simply CANNOT use thunderbolt on a Mac Pro?!

I guess Apple is saying Thunderbolt isn't for pros...just like FCPX 😟

Well, then make it big enough for heat-sinks and Xeon Server processors. Doesn't have to be that small. As well, for those who do not need Xeon processors but need the expandability of a tower (think - the guts of a top iMac), it could fill the void that so many are clamoring for Apple to build. A mid-tower between the iMac and Mac Pro that allows for expandability/PCIe/graphics updates for the price of what a PowerMac G4/5 cost before Apple switched to Intel in 2006 (you could get a PowerMac G5 ~1500+ and one of Apple CCFL LCD's for what you pay for a basic Mac Pro, and no they did not cannibalize iMac sales).

Food for thought. 🙂
