Why are random photos missing in photostream?

I'm importing photos on my iPad2 from a camera and have photostream enabled and it has been working great for a couple of weeks. Or so I thougt anyway.

I just noticed that random photos are not appearing under the photostream label on the iPad. I'm on wifi more or less constantly and the missing photos are a not the newest ones imported. Some of the photos missing in the photostream have been on the iPad for several days.

I'm abroad for a couple of months and have photostream enabled on a pc back home to secure that my photos would be backed up and I could safely delete photos on the iPad to free disk space during my trip, but for obvious reasons I can't say if they are missing on the pc as well, but it seems likely.

Any ideas whats causing this and how to resolve it?

I have seen the same problem. Just today, I looked at photo stream on my ipad and noticed a photo I took earlier today wasn't there. I looked at the iphone and the photo was in the camera roll but *not* in the photo stream.

I have experienced the same issue intermittently. The most recent example is I took 4 photos on my 4s and only 1 appeared in photo stream on both the 4s and iPad2. Has anyone found a way to resolve or a work around? Other than sending the missing photos via Email?

today i've had a set of 10 photos or so missing altogether in my photostream. All pictures concerned were taken with my iphone 4s during the same "session". Pictures from an earlier session the same day showed up as expected.

The thing is that this group of 10 photos doesn't even show up on my iphone under the "photostream" tab in the photos app, although it does under the regular photos tab.

triggering icloud backup manually didn't help (although I realize icloud backup and photostream aren't directly related, are they?). of course, i was in my wifi area (at home).

I have exactly the same problem for several days. I made 108 photos and therewere only 104 in the photo stream transmitted.

Until today are still some photos disappeared. oddly enough, are now surfaced photos that I've been missing... I've found no solution and nothing changed either way.

... hold on, the missing pictures are just coming in. Apparently, the synching process is unpredictable and not necessarily started AS SOON AS you're in the Wifi area.

I guess many people are having problems with this otherwise great feature because it's so intransparent. Apple should provide an app to monitor the synching.

Hi all, can you tell me how you resolved the issue. I am just experiencing it these days and it's not correcting itself as with @Xerberus. The pictures are on Aperture, but are not syncing to iCloud. Have unchecked and checked the photostream box in settings and restarted the computer / phone etc. but no luck.....

ios7 iphone5 used to take pictures

battery more than 20%, wifi available

switch to 'my photostream' to find only some and not all photos have been synced

went in the next day and saw the missing ones slowly being added in one by one

there does not appear to be any logic behind why certain ones were missing or indeed why the delay but it appears to be working fine now
