Why the price of iPhone 4 has been increased after the launch of iPhone 4S in India?

Today, I went to a Apple Store in Kolkata, India to buy an iPhone 4. The retailer said that he doesn't have any stock of iPhone 4,he only has iPhone 4S and iPhone 3GS. And the current price of iPhone 4 is increased now. Can anybody, tell me why the price has been increased for the same iPhone 4? and why is it out of stock? The price of iPhone 4(16Gb) was Rs. 34,500 around 2 weeks back. Now, it is around Rs. 37,500 (8 Gb). How can I get the earlier version of iPhone 4?
