how to make macbook pro hibernate when closing lid

How can I set up my MacBook Pro to hibernate when the lid is closed, just like Windows laptops do? MacBook Pro will sleep when lid is closed, but it still runs down the battery. I want to close the lid and have it hibernate, drawing no battery juice at all. Is this possible? (I am a relatively new "switcher" and this is a Windows feature that I really miss.)

When I changed hibernatemode to 25 (from the default 3), closing my MacBook Pro's lid seems to put it into a Windows-style hibernation, i.e., no battery drain at all. To resume, I open the lid and push the power button.
