WAV meta data import?

I see lot of earlier discussions on similar topic.

Is there any way to import WAV files into itunes along with meta data? I can see all meta data in VLC including album art, however it's not seen when I import them into itunes.

Any tips?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.2), itunes WAV

Unfortunately, no. iTunes, unlike most programs that handle WAV (such as VLC, as you noticed), simply cannot read the metadata for WAV files.

So, after you add the WAV to your iTunes library, you have to fix the library information manually.

If it is possible to use AIFF for your purpose, iTunes will handle the tags just fine. AIFF and WAV are equivalent from an audio perspective.
