printer paused/unable to send data to printer

Hello, I got an HP C5280 All-In-One that worked fine until I upgraded this morning to OS X Lion... Now I get lots of errors. The printer is paused after 2 seconds, then it says "unable to send data to printer" or sometimes even "searching for printer"...

Can anyone please help me out here so I can print my Christmas cards...?

I'm sorry, did all this for numerous times but nothing. In my System Preferences > Print & Scan menu, the printer is "Idle, Default" and GREEN so must be working.

However in my dock, the icon HP Photosmart C5200 series lights up with a red exclamation mark when I try to print from Preview.

It gives this error:

Communication Failure: The computer is no longer able to communicate with your printer. Turn the printer off, check your printer connections and check for printer errors, and turn the printer back on.

Just deleted printer, uninstalled HP.

Looked for printers and installed HP C5200 series.

Tried to print again, but again:

"Communication Failure: The computer is no longer able to communicate with your printer. Turn the printer off, check your printer connections and check for printer errors, and turn the printer back on."

I hate Lion already!

Gee Apple support communities...

Thanks for your support!

I spent the whole day trying to install my printer on the new OS X Lion but without any luck...

I even made an appointment in an official MAC STORE this afternoon but after trying for 2 hours, the assistant gave up on it.

No options to install my printer, even though HP listed the device number in their upgraded working on Lion software...

I've got the same problem too.

First I had the problem with my HP C4200 (which incidentally will scan via Preview but not print) and now I have a new Epson Stylus S20 which will not print either.

Am at my wits end as I could probably buy about 27 printers and get the same problem - is there anyone out there that can help us? I've tried all the tips above and nothing so far works!!

I have a HP laserjet 1200. It is plug in to a router so my 3 macs can print to it. They are all running snow Leopard.

I bought a new Mac which runs Lion. It cannot detect the HP printer. So I added the printer manually under the Print & fax window with the correct driver. The print window keep showing that 'the printer is busy' and cannot print.

I added the printer under the Printer & Fax > IP tap. But do not know what is the Protocol to choose under the 'IP' tap. I tried all 3 but none works:

- Internet printing Procol - IPP

- Line Printer Daemon - LPD

- HP jetdiret - socket

To work around the print problem, I have to turn the other Mac (snow Leopard) on, set it to share printer and print it thro the other Mac. It took a long time to print a simple file.

I have already check HP website for updates.

Can anyone help?

I'm also having trouble with one my printer. It's an HP Photosmart 7510 and my Mac Pro running OSX Lion keeps dropping the connection. It's not a huge issue because all I have to do is turn the printer off and then on again and it will automatically reconnect, but it's annoying and if there's a work around I would appreciate any help I can get.
